Good practice in developing global competence in the UK education system.

This article aims to evaluate both directive and teaching practices for the global competence development within the context of school following the British educational system. The sample includes the managerial team, teachers and families of the school in the Primary stage. A qualitative methodology is followed through in-depth interviews and focus groups with prominent members of the center’s educational community, selected because of their involvement and deep knowledge about it.
The data has been analyzed with Atlas.ti software (V. 9) and results identify good managerial practices that seizes the available resources, such as the "Hot seat" (initiative for the professional development of teachers), highlighting their experiences and strengths, as well as teaching practices such as the Global Awareness Project (GAP) and Communication Thinking Skills (CTS), or the social action and solidarity initiatives that the school carries out, for example, in India.These solutions represent a learning opportunity for other centers that wish to implement them.
