La metodología STEAM como factor protector del abandono escolar

El abandono escolar temprano es un fenómeno en el que influyen aspectos de carácter multifactorial relacionados con aspectos personales, sociales y académicos. Dentro de esta última categoría, una de las variables de influencia es la metodología y recursos utilizados en el desarrollo del proceso formativo. El objetivo de esta investigación es determinar la existencia de vinculación entre las metodologías utilizadas y la intencionalidad de abandono escolar temprano. El estudio se realiza mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario desarrollado ad hoc en una muestra de 957 alumnos y alumnas de los últimos años de la educación secundaria obligatoria y los primeros de la educación postobligatoria de tres Comunidades Autónomas españolas. El análisis de datos se efectúa a través de un análisis correlacional desarrollado con el programa R. Los resultados muestran que el alumnado valora en mayor medida las metodologías activas y participativas como es la propuesta STEAM y como consecuencia muestran una menor intención de abandono escolar.
