Abstract

Early school dropout is a multifactorial phenomenon influenced by personal, social, and academic aspects. Within this last category, one influential variable is the methodology and resources used in the educational process. The objective of this research is to determine the link between the methodologies employed and the intention of early school dropout. The study is conducted by administering a specifically developed questionnaire to a sample of 957 male and female students in the final years of compulsory education and the early years of post-compulsory education from three Spanish autonomous communities. Data analysis is carried out through a correlational analysis using the R program. The results show that students value active and participatory methodologies, such as the STEAM approach, to a greater extent, resulting in a lower intention of early school dropout
