Inteligencia emocional y capital psicológico en estudiantes del Grado en Educación Primaria

Resumen

La inteligencia emocional es la capacidad de comprender las emociones propias y ajenas, de usar las emociones de forma adecuada y de regularlas. El capital psicológico es el estado psicológico de desarrollo positivo que se caracteriza por poseer eficacia, optimismo, esperanza y resiliencia. La evidencia científica indica que ambos constructos son recursos positivos relacionados en el ámbito organizacional pero apenas hay estudios donde se evalúe a estudiantes o docentes. Por tanto, esta investigación tiene como fin conocer la relación entre inteligencia emocional y capital psicológico en estudiantes que se están formando para ser docentes. La muestra está compuesta por 221 estudiantes del Grado en Educación Primaria. Los datos se recogieron de manera presencial mediante un cuestionario sociodemográfico, junto a las escalas WLEIS-S y CPC-12. Los resultados muestran que existe una relación positiva y significativa entre ambos constructos. Concretamente, el uso de las emociones así como la evaluación de las emociones propias y la regulación emocional predicen parte de la varianza del capital psicológico. Estos resultados evidencian la relevancia de incorporar la educación emocional en la formación de los y las estudiantes universitarios/as que serán docentes de Educación Primaria para fomentar el desarrollo de su inteligencia emocional y su capital psicológico.
