MATHEMATICS AND LEARNING STYLES
ABSTRACT:
The aim of this article is to share the findings of educational research conducted via the Internet aimed at discerning the current state of Mathematics Teaching in relation to the Theory of Learning Styles. The article summarizes the contents of the principal studies and explores pedagogical proposals that demonstrate different ways to teach mathematics that are stimulating for students using different learning styles. In view of the results it can be concluded that although the Theory of Learning Styles is shown as a focus of increasing interest, its application in the field of mathematics is limited although the new lines of research help combine learning styles, mathematics anxiety and beliefs of teachers and pupils.
