ESTILOS DE APRENDIZAJE Y RENDIMIENTO ACADÉMICO EN ALUMNOS DE SEGUNDO GRADO DE SECUNDARIA

ResumenEl presente es un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo de tipo pre-experimental, que consiste en el estudio comparativo de estilos de aprendizaje de los alumnos de segundo de secundaria de un Instituto Privado de Tijuana, Baja California, para determinar si existe un estilo preferente de aprendizaje. Los objetivos fueron: Comprobar si existe un predominio de determinados estilos entre los alumnos con mejor rendimiento académico en español y matemáticas. Determinar los estilos de aprendizaje que predominan en los estudiantes. El estudio se limitó a los estilos de aprendizaje a partir de los supuestos teóricos de Kolb (1976), traducidos y adaptados por Alonso (1994) para la elaboración del Cuestionario Honey-Alonso de Estilos de Aprendizaje (CHAEA), también se realizó una comparación con el cuestionario de estilos de aprendizaje elaborado por Felder y Silverman. La muestra fue de 206 estudiantes de los 585 inscritos para el período 2014-2015. Se presentan los resultados del CHAEA y del Inventario de Felder y Silverman; además de un análisis de los datos recolectados para identificar la diferencia de estilos de aprendizaje entre los estudiantes con alto y bajo rendimiento académico. Se concluye que no existen estilos de aprendizaje preferenciales, al parecer hay una predilección moderada por todos los estilos.
Abstract
This study is a quantitative research approach pre-experimental type, which consists of the comparative study of learning styles of students in the eighth grade of a Private Institute Tijuana, Baja California, to determine if there is a preferred style of learning . The objectives were: Check if there is a predominance of certain styles between students with better academic achievement in Spanish and mathematics. To determine the predominant learning styles on students. The study was limited to learning styles from the theoretical assumptions of Kolb (1976), translated and adapted by Alonso (1994) for the development of the questionnaire Honey-Alonso Learning Styles (CHAEA), also made a comparison with the learning styles questionnaire developed by Felder and Silverman. The sample was 206 students than 585 registered for the period 2014-2015. CHAEA results and Inventory Felder and Silverman are presented; and an analysis of the data collected to identify the different learning styles among students with high and low academic performance. We conclude that there is no preferential learning styles, apparently there is a moderate preference for all styles.
