RESUMEN
La presente investigación tiene por objetivo analizar los Estilos de Aprendizaje de los alumnos y docentes de las carreras de Educación Diferencial y Pedagogía en Inglés en la Universidad Santo Tomás de la ciudad de Viña del Mar, con el fin de relacionar éstos con las estrategias de enseñanza utilizadas por los profesores. Para el logro del objetivo se desarrolló una investigación descriptiva, cuya muestra estuvo conformada por los alumnos de 1º a 4º año y los profesores de las carreras mencionadas. Los estudiantes presentan un perfil de aprendizaje moderado para los estilos Activo, Teórico y Pragmático, y una baja tendencia para el estilo Reflexivo. Asimismo, los docentes, presentan una preferencia moderada por el estilo de aprendizaje Teórico. Con respecto a las estrategias de enseñanza utilizadas, los docentes declaran aplicar aquellas que estimulan todos los estilos de aprendizaje según el modelo experiencial de Kolb.
DIAGNOSIS OF LEARNING STYLES OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF ENGLISH TEACHING CAREERS AND EDUCATION DIFFERENTIAL, UST VINA DEL MAR.
ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to analyze the Learning Styles of students and teachers from Special Education and English Pedagogy majors from Santo Tomas University in Viña del Mar campus. To achieve this objective, a descriptive research was developed considering a sample of students from first to fourth year and the teachers from the mentioned majors. The students presented a moderate learning profile for the Active, Theoretical and Pragmatic styles, while they had a low tendency for the Reflexive style. Likewise, the teachers showed a moderate preference for the Theoretical style. In relation to the Learning Strategies used, the teachers declared to use those that stimulate all the learning styles according to Kolb’s model.
