ESTILOS DE APRENDIZAJE Y RENDIMIENTO ACADÉMICO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS DE EDUCACIÓN A DISTANCIA

Se analiza la relación entre los estilos de aprendizaje y el rendimiento académico en estudiantes universitarios de educación a distancia, a partir de tres estudios. Los resultados señalan que los Estilos de Aprendizaje Teórico y Activo predominan en estudiantes de pregrado, mientras que los estudiantes de posgrado no presentan preferencias. Existe relación entre los Estilos de Aprendizaje y el Rendimiento Académico en los niveles de pregrado (Estilo Teórico) y posgrado (Estilos Reflexivo y Pragmático). Se observó una relación moderada entre las áreas de Ambiente y Asimilación de los Hábitos de Estudio y el Rendimiento Académico. El interés por el tema y la capacidad percibida para realizar dos o más actividades son factores que pueden estar relacionados con el Rendimiento académico. Finalmente, se incluyen recomendaciones y se sugiere la continuación con esta línea de estudio para consolidar la educación a distancia en el espacio de la enseñanza superior.
LEARNING STYLES AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN DISTANCE LEARNING COLLEGE STUDENTS
The relationship between learning styles and academic achievement in distance learning college students is analyzed following three studies: Results reveal that Theoretic and Active Learning Styles predominate in undergraduate students while no postgraduate preferences were shown. There is a relationship between undergraduate level (Theoretical Learning Style) and postgraduate level (Reflexive and Pragmatic Learning Styles) A moderate relation was observed between the Study Habits areas of Environment and Assimilation, and academic achievement. Topic interest and perceived ability to do two or more activities are factors that could be related to academic achievement. Finally, recommendations are included. The continuity of research is suggested in order to consolidate distance learning at the college level.
