AN INVESTIGATION OF THE STUDENTS’ LEARNING STYLE DURING THE DIFFERENT MOMENTS OF THEIR ACADEMIC LIVES.
Abstract:
In this work, the Learning Style of both university entrants and advanced students at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional Regional San Nicolás (UTN SN) is analyzed. We believe that the teacher’s knowledge about the predominant learning styles and the students’ awareness of the attitudes they adopt in the learning process are important in the didactic interrelationship between teacher-student. Our research was carried out on a sample of first academic year students attending Engineering in UTN SN during 2008. The application of the CHAEA results to this sample has allowed the establishment of the marks’ reading criterion. Moreover, a sample of advanced students of industrial engineering is analyzed and their Learning Style is compared with that of the entrants to this career in 2008 –showing significant differences in the Theoretical Style.
