This proposal presents an action research study comprising five cycles following Elliott’s model, carried out over three academic years (2022–2025) within the framework of a sequence of three teaching innovation projects funded through competitive public calls. The projects were developed in music education courses within the bachelor’s degrees in early childhood education, Primary Education, and the Double Degree at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of the Autonomous University of Madrid, with a sample of 172 students. The virtually nonexistent presence of interdisciplinary study and performance of contemporary music in music education csrooms highlights the urgent need to bring these practices and forms of knowledge closer to university students preparing to enter the teaching profession in the near future. In this action research study, the main objective was to acquire knowledge and pedagogical tools for the interdisciplinary teaching of contemporary art. The strategic action developed was based on practical workshops led by prominent artists from the contemporary art scene. The results obtained reveal the transformative effects of action research on students’ pedagogical training by fostering meaningful connections between music, the body, technology, and educational processes.
