Based on a project-based methodology, a cultural route has been designed to enhance the understanding of the influence of the image of Aragon on nineteenth and twentieth century international ballets among the students of the Bachelor´s degree in Art History at the University of Zaragoza. This proposal is framed within the teaching innovation project Diseño de rutas culturales alternativas como herramienta activa de aprendizaje para la docencia en Historia del Arte (PIIDUZ_1 4665). Students in the Conservation and Restoration of Artistic Heritage course first toured the Goya Museum before visiting the surroundings of the Pilar Basilica and the Aljafería Palace. The content of this route included 27 primary sources that had been showcased with the assistance of ICT tools. As a result, the students were able to link this cultural heritage to the traces of the Sieges of Zaragoza and the Aragonese jota in the ballets Paquita and The Three-Cornered Hat, respectively.
